Maximal Oxygen Consumption Essay
Testing Maximal Oxygen Consumption (VO2max)/Aerobic Capacity
VO2max refers to an individual ability to transport as well as consume oxygen throughout exhausted work or exercise and correlate to that individual cardio respiratory health or fitness.
The participant does maximal exercise test by use of a treadmill. The treadmill is normally calibrated so as to achieve accuracy of speed and grade. The subject does exercise to fatigue by use of Bruce protocol. Handrails should not be used for exercise. The electrocardiogram is keenly monitored continuously through the test. The maximal oxygen consumption is measured by an ergospirometric machine through a breath by breath analysis of the gas system. Before testing, pneumotachograph is calibrated by use of 3.0 L at different flow rates.
Subsequently, carbon dioxide and oxygen analyzers are calibrated using known mixture of gas in line with manufacture’s specifications. To achieve maximal oxygen consumption the following criteria for exercise test should be used: Leveling off of oxygen gas uptake against work rate increase; ratio of respiratory exchange (VO2/VCO2) exceeding 1.10; and 90% achievement of adjusted age estimate for maximal heart rate.
The important parameters that should be documented from exercise test of cardio-respiratory include: METsmax maximum value by ergospirometer as well as software unit for testing exercise by use of Bruce protocol; the test duration; maximal pulmonary ventilation; maximal heart rate as well as RER (respiratory exchange ratio).
Regression analysis can produce the following equation: ml·kg-1·min-1 which is equivalent to 33.971+ (1.481 · time) - (0.291 · age) (SEE=6.18, R=.61). Both exercise time and age, as VO2max predictor variables, are statistically significant (p<.05) clarifying the R2=.368 (36.8%) of VO2max the variance. The maximal oxygen consumption a limit of an individual is, therefore, determined this equation for each student to fatigue within 8-12 minutes: VO2 = pulmonary ventilation stpd (NF x .2093 - FEO2).

Facebook Mania Essay
Facebook mania is growing stronger. This is the conclusion reached by researchers from the University of Gothenburg. According to them, the big fans of the social network are less satisfied with life than their peers who do not have such inclinations. By the degree of destructiveness, experts compared Facebook with traditional forms of addiction.
The part of Facebook users encountering some psychological troubles is quite large. 85% of the social network users admit that Facebook is often the first site they begin a working day with. At the same time, half of the users are afraid of missing something important on Facebook, when they do not have access to Zuckerberg’s social network at least for one day. 25% of them admit that they feel "uncomfortable" in those moments when there is no possibility to visit the site and check what has been going on their friends’ pages.
During the study, conducted by Swedish researches, several thousands of respondents aged 18 to 73 years were questioned. The results showed that Facebooking might become uncontrollable habit. The majority of respondents visit Facebook pages every day without even realizing it and this form of resource utilization subsequently develops into a addiction," - says Leif Denti, doctor of psychology at the University of Gothenburg.
The expert also said that women are more prone to the Facebook mania than men, because the social network often causes them depression. In has also been noted that most users of the social network show only positive news on their pages. As a result, when reading the wall of your Facebook friends you get false impression that they live much more fulfilling and exciting life than yourself.
Meanwhile, only 38% of Facebook users are willing to share negative information about themselves or share their experiences. A social network is a social tool that is clearly used to manage relationships with friends and family. However, users would not expose everything - most messages are associated with important and positive events.
The scientists have also found out that the average Facebook user spends about 75 minutes a day on the site. At the same time women spend on it about 81 minutes a day, while men only 64 minutes. 70% of the Zuckerberg site users surf Facebook pages every time they use a computer.
Not so long ago a similar study was conducted by Professor Christopher Carpenter of the University of Western Illinois. The scientist came to the conclusion that Facebook provokes antisocial behavior and exacerbates the tendency toward narcissism. The findings are published in the scientific journal Personality and Individual Differences. The expert concluded that Facebook offers Internet users "hundreds or noncommittal social ties, which are subsequently replaced by people full of communication." At the same time, users are beginning to suffer from narcissism, that is, they are more than ever in need of approval and admiration from others. Subsequently, this leads to a pathological exaggeration of self-importance.
You can use free sample Facebook mania essay for better understanding of the phenomena.

Habit is Second Nature essay
As the saying goes, habit is second nature. Habits are very strong. It is quite difficult to get rid of the way of thinking, actions and deeds that have become usual, and they may override person’s will.
The proverb has a book origin. It was first found in Rhetoric by Aristotle: "The habit is becoming a natural property." In the composition of Cicero "On the limits of good and evil," this Greek saying is translated to Latin: habit is like a second nature. Augustine and Macrobius expressed this idea even shorter: habit is second nature. In his Essais, the French philosopher Montaigne seemed to return to the saying its "natural" meaning (in Latin habit means nature): "The habit is second nature, and it is in power." Often, this expression is used in the original Latin: Consuetude estaltera natura.
And what are habits?
Man is born with the already laid down therein inclinations. We are not talking about those natural inclinations, with which we are born and which are our natural essence, working in us at the level of instincts. There are also tendencies, which are disclosed as we develop, leaving the subconscious and surfacing in our minds, so that we suddenly begin to desire something, feel or think something new.
Our professional service can help with writing your essay on Habits!
However, in addition to the original, instinctual nature, there another, which is called the "second nature." And it is acquired by habit.
Natural, initial inclinations continue to work in us, but on top of them we build our second nature. And this second nature is usually much stronger and more clearly manifested, because in this I have the support of society.
Therefore, it all depends on the environment. What we do with the help of education? All education is the creation of the second nature. The society instill man habits of all sorts so that his behavior become more convenient.
And this applies to a lot of things: how we use the bathroom, toilet, as we sleep – all this we were taught and we are used to it and can no longer behave differently.
God forbid, something happened to the man, he broke his leg and was forced to change usual routine. It is extremely hard. And this is only his second acquired nature: his habits dictate him his will.
We say: it refers to the mentality. But what is the mentality? Take any child – you put it in an environment and it becomes its part. And this environment will be his second nature, which would be extraordinarily difficult to change. It will remain in the child forever, and on top of it? The child would have to put other various layers.
Free sample essay on habit is a second nature may be very helpful for the beginners.

College Students Smoking Behavior and Stress Management
Introduction
The relationship between college students smoking behavior and stress management, as well as interpersonal support management are one of the major aspects that concerns most students in many colleges and universities. There is a perception among many university students in regard to the relation between stress and smoking habits. Studies suggest that, most of the students will in a way learn to deal with the stress factors that are related to college life, or will use smoking as an escape or stress reliever. There are also other perceptions of other individuals that give a better understanding of the issue of smoking in college campuses.
Despite the widespread recognition of the subsequently serious public health, consequences of the use of tobacco, the research on smoking cigarettes among college students appears to be sparse, and, therefore, determinant of the trend of smoking among college students are largely unknown. Roles of theoretically derived psychosocial, as well as behavioral protective factors and risk factors, regard involvement among college students. Consequently, years that students spent in institutions provide a chief opportunity in assessing the protective, as well as risk factors associated with the likelihood of smoking among students.
Development in the recent years, in social and development psychological, and also behavioral epidemiology, has subsequently contributed to the ever growing interests in the protective and risks factors role of influencing the involvement of young people in such risky behaviors like smoking, problem drinking, and use of illicit drugs. In this case, a theory based protection, and approach has significantly proved quite useful in accounting for the involvement of adolescents in problem behavior, as well as health behaviors in sample students, in post high schools across United States.

However, some will definitely choose to cope with stressors, majorly through positive behaviors like exercise and physical activity, addressing of proper nutrition, practicing positive thinking, spiritual methods, acquiring of adequate amounts of sleep and mediation among others. This is a trend that is not very much common among college students, and thus, in most cases; it will be quite difficult to engage in such healthy activities.

The kind of pressure that is put to these students in the university education attribute to the common behavior of smoking among university students across the United States. On top of that, there is pressure for some students to get a job to meet their financial purposes.
